el-Bundarî
el-Bundarî (Kıvâmüddin Ebû İbrahim el-Feth b. Ali el-Bundarî) was an author and scribe active during the Eyyûbîler period.
Life
Born in İsfahan in 586/1190, el-Bundarî spent his youth in this city. In 614/1217, he went to Suriye and settled in Dımaşk, served as a scribe in the service of the Eyyûbîler for a period, and passed away in Dımaşk in 643/1245 (Volume 1, p. 110).
Work
el-Bundarî's work, Zubdetü'n-Nusra ve Nuhbetü'l-Usra, is an abridged version of İmâdeddin Kâtip el-İsfahanî's (d. 597/1200-1201) work, Nusretü'l-fetre ve usretü'l-katre; this latter work, in essence, expands upon the work of Selçuklu Vizier Şerefüddin Ebû Nasr Anûşîrvan b. Halid-i Kâşânî (d. 532/1138) with notes and additions. el-Bundarî's work, which is primarily a Selçuklu history, provides details on Şeddâdî-Selçuklu relations, the governors of Arrân, and the activities of Selçuklu sultans in the region (Volume 1, p. 110).
