Artuklular

The Arthurian dynasty is a dynastal dynastي that existed in Upper Mesopotamia around Diyarbakir (Amid), Mardin and Hasankeyf. The region is mentioned in the history of the Islamic period with various powers, including the Ayyubids. ## The struggle for dominance in the region took place in a continuous struggle with other forces, especially in and around Mardin. This dispute was not confined to Mardin; the city of Dunaysir also changed hands between the Arthurians and the Ayyubids, and remained in the hands of the Ayubids until it was occupied by the Mongols (Cilt 2, p. 105). In a letter to the commander of the Mughal army that besieged Mardin, Ilgazi praised the courage of the Kurds and said that they were ready to defend Mardin (Cilt 2, s. 104; Cilt 2, p. 105). Ibn al-Azraq al-Fariqi was a historian who lived during this period, who recorded the change in the fate of the region after the destruction of the Mervans by the Seljuks (Volume 1, p. 132). Part of his Târîhu Meyyâfârikîn and Amid is directly referred to as "Artular Part" (Kısmu'l-Artukiyîn) and thus forms one of the main sources for the history of the khanate (Volumes 1, p . 216). ## In the Salnames, the period of the Artuks in the history of Diyarbekir in Ottoman provincial salnames; the Hamdans, Mervans, Ayyubids, Ilhans, Karakoyunlu, Akkoyunlu and Safevils is recorded (Volume 4, p. 257).
