Salname
Other names: Salnameler, Sâlnâme, Vilayet Salnamesi
Salname is an annals, derived from the Persian words "sal" (year) and "name" (written document) and meaning "year and written document", published by official and private institutions during the Ottoman Empire period (Volume 4, p. 243). The first edition was prepared in 1847 by Ahmed Vefik Pasha under the leadership of Mustafa Reşid Pasha, and in later years Ahmed Cevdet Pasha was among the bureaucrats who prepared the edition (Volume 4, p. 243). This method was continued until 1918 (Volume 4, p. 250), the last state decree of the Ottoman Empire. The foreign embassies give the names of foreign state consuls in the provinces; the consuls of the Iranian provinces of Erzurum, Baghdad, Van and Mosul and the consulates of the Kurdish provinces in England, France and Russia can be traced from these records (Volume 4, p. 252). ## Kurdish geography has been recorded in the State Halls since the first state halls: according to the 1847 halls, the consultant of the Anatolian Army was Osman Pasha, the army headquarters was Harput and the army consisted of Diyarbekir, Mardin, Erzurum, Bitlis, Kars, Sivas, Malatya, Hısn-ı Mansur (Adiyaman), Siverek and Pertek positions (Cilt 4, p. 246). In the same treatise, the places attached to the Governor of Erzurum, Vizir İzzet Pasha, are given as Madir, Kars, Bayezid, Van and Muş (Volume 4, p. 246). State salnames also give the livery structure of the states; from these records, the state of Kurdistan consists of the liveries of Muş, Van, Hakkâri, Cizre and Diyarbekir (Cilt 4, p. 247). The main condition for the issuance of salnames was the presence of official printing in the province; therefore, the number of salnams in some provinces remained low (Volume 4, p. 253). The Diyarbekir and Haleb salnames are extremely rich in terms of information about history and geography (Volume 4, p. 244). In the fihrist of the Diyarbakir Villages Salnames of 1885 there are titles such as calendar, important events, provincial districts, flags and accidents, flag statistics, military units, spiritual chiefs, foreign consuls, land status, large rivers, mountains, mines, people, agriculture, trade and animal husbandry (volume 4, s. 255; Volume 4, s..). 256). The history of the province in Salnam is given under the title "Hükkam-ı Kürdistan" to the period of the Kurdish gentry; the history of Jizre, Palu, Hasankeyf, Zirki and Meyafarikin/Silvan orders by the Egil and Chermik rulers of Mirdasi origin is given (Volume 4, p. 257). ## Data for Kurdish History include records identifying the Kurdish tribes individually: Diyarbekir Chronicles records that the Kiki tribe lived between the Kiki-i Turkan and Kiki-I Halecan arms, the Karakechi tribe was engaged in farming between Siverek-Yenişehir, the Şerabi tribe sold the rugan on Habur and the Dakori tribe resided between Rasülayn-Mardin (Cilt 4, p. 272). In the Bitlis Salnames, it is recorded that the part of the Kurdish hostel was named "koçer/göçer" in the region (Volume 4, p. 266). Van Vilayet Salnamesi mocks the Hamidiye Alayes; it is one of these records in which the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Alayas from the Haydaranlı tribe were organized in Bargiri (Volumes 4, p 305). Placenames and folk culture are also reflected in the salnames: among the rivers in the Malazgird Cause, Heftreng is recorded as meaning "Seven Colors" in modern Kurdish (Volume 4, p. 276). The marriage lists in the Bitlis salnam include data on Kurdish cultural history, as well as the record of Sheikh Tehran's Medfun in Isparit, the Kurdish and Persian poems (Volumn 4, p 301). In the administrative classification of the Mamuretulaziz, the accidents of the Dersim flag are also observed from the salname tables (Volume 4, p. 261).
