Nasruddevle

Share

Nasruddevle is one of the important rulers of the Mervânî dynasty; he is Mumehhiduddevle's younger brother and took over the administration from Şervîn with the help of Erzen governor Hoca Ebu’l-Kâsım el-İsfahânî (Cilt 1, s. 130).

Nasruddevle consolidated his dominance in the region; during his period, the walls of Âmid and Cizre were repaired, and many works such as gardens, canals, mosques, hans, hammams, bimaristans, and bridges were built in the region (Cilt 1, s. 131). The repair of city walls and gates is also mentioned among his construction activities (Cilt 2, s. 100). However, with the rise of the Seljuks, the Mervânîs became one of the states that adopted Seljuk suzerainty during his period (Cilt 1, s. 131).
