Kazvinî
Kazvinî is a scholar and geographer known by this epithet because he was born and raised in the city of Kazvin (Vol. 2, p. 27). He largely owes his fame to two of his works (Vol. 2, p. 28); the most renowned among them are ʿAcâibü’l-Mahlûkât ve Ġarâibü’l-Mevcudât and Âsârü’l-Bilâd ve Ahbârü’l-İbad (Vol. 2, pp. 29, 54).
In his works, Kazvinî discussed seas, rivers, mountains, and peoples; he described the economic and social life of these peoples (Vol. 2, p. 43). In his work titled Âsârü’l-Bilâd, the summer and winter pastures of the Kurds were also mentioned (Vol. 2, p. 54).
The view has been put forward that Dımaşkî's geography book is actually a compilation of Kazvinî's work (Vol. 2, p. 34); later authors commented on a part of Kazvinî's work titled Câmiʿü’l-Muhtasarat (Vol. 2, p. 43).
